T1’s Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok becomes the first player in LCK history to reach 500 wins. The veteran player set this record after T1 took a close 2-1 win over Gen.G who were unbeaten in the LCK summer split. Moreover, he achieved this record with Lissandra, his ninth most played champion in the league. The win sees T1 maintain the second position and draw level with Gen.G on series wins.

Faker’s 500th win is a feat way ahead of any other player in the LCK as the second player with the most wins, Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu sits at 371; and the player after him, Gen.G’s Park “Ruler” Jae-hyuk has 341 wins.

Since making his entrance into League with T1 9 years ago, Faker has set and broken almost all LCK records. Asides from leading the LCK killer board, Faker also holds the record for most kills, most champions and games played and most championships won. Moreover, he is the most accomplished active player in League of Legends history with two MSI and three Worlds titles.

While there is no telling whether Faker will remain in the LCK after 2022, T1 still have several series to play before the end of the LCK summer split, giving Faker the opportunity to extend his record.

Despite the win today, T1 are still cautious about getting carried away in the regular summer split. Both Ryu “Keria” Min-seok and Mun “Oner” Hyeon-jun spoke about this in the post-game interview.

Round 1 of the LCK summer split ends in Week 5 when all teams will have faced each other once. T1’s next game is against Fredit BRION, the only team yet to pick up a win in the LCK.

“Sometimes when someone has nothing to lose, they become even stronger, Oner said. So I think we really have to prepare hard for the BRO series as well.”
