Tiny adjustment in LoL patch 12.14 will make or break friendships

League of Legends patch 12.14 nerfs six champions, buffs seven, adjusts five, and adds the new batch of Star Guardian skins.

As you’re celebrating (or malding over) the rare and very annoying Teemo buff, you might have overlooked the small change Riot Games implemented to their behavioral system.

Out of left field, the game developers decided to make the in-game honor system more transparent, which could very well affect your friendships with your fellow LoL mates.

There are times when certain members in a five stack have to sacrifice their main role in Ranked Flex in order to accommodate others. At other times, players might feel that they contributed greatly to victory and deserve to be acknowledged for their game-changing play.

“Honor me!” is the most common words uttered in the post-game lobby, if you ignore all the negative comments.

The thing is, the only information LoL players had all these years was how many honors they received after a game, which maxes out at four. No additional information is given, and we certainly could not find out which teammates honored us.

Patch 12.14 changes all that, for now you’ll be able to see exactly who honored you when you hover over the honor icon in the post-game screen. So AD carries, if you made a promise to your support that you’ll honor them, but did not, you’ll no longer be able to get away with it since all honor information is fully disclosed.

The honor system was first introduced ten years ago in October 2012 as an incentive to promote better player behavior. Over the years, Riot Games has been improving its system, adding better rewards such as orbs, chests, and cosmetics.

Most recently, Honor Level 5 players received a special animated recall that’s permanent if you hit level five, or temporarily if they were the most honored player in their last match.
