World-class Dota 2 action will soon be on full display with the final Major of the Dota Pro Circuit 2021/2022 set to begin on August 4.

The PGL Arlington Major promises to deliver exciting matches and drama with 17 of the world’s best teams battling one another for DPC points and their share of the US$500,000 prize pool.

Here is everything you need to know about the PGL Arlington Major.

The PGL Arlington Major is the third Major of the Dota Pro Circuit 2021/2022.

17 teams from six different regions gathered in Texas for the premier event, hoping to earn their share of the prize pool and DPC points, which they will need to guarantee an invitation to The International 2022 in October.

The 12 teams with the most DPC points will earn a direct invite to TI11, making each Major a precious opportunity to earn points and book their tickets early.

Chinese squad Xtreme Gaming withdrew from the tournament since one player’s visa was denied several times.

Southeast Asian squad Fnatic also had visa issues of their own with three players from their main roster unable to obtain US visas. Fnatic was allowed to participate in the tournament with three substitutes.

Entity, Royal Never Give Up, Thunder Awaken, and Talon Esports will also be playing with stand-ins.

The 17 attending teams will be split into two groups. Each team will play a best-of-two round-robin to determine their standings.

The top four teams from each group will be seeded in the upper bracket of the playoffs. Teams that finish in 5th and 6th place in their group will advance to the lower bracket. The remaining teams in each group will be eliminated from the competition.

All playoff series are best-of-three, except for the grand finals, which will be a best-of-five.

The Stockholm Major will have a US$500,000 prize pool, as well as 4,570 DPC points to be distributed among the attendees depending on placement.

Fans can watch the matches live on PGL’s official Twitch, YouTube, or Facebook streams.

During the group stages, three additional streams will be broadcasting the matches. You can find Stream B, Stream C, and Stream D here.
