Mobile Legends: Bang Bang continues to go from strength to strength, setting a new viewership record at the 31st Southeast Asian Games.

The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang event at this year’s games amassed around 2.2 million concurrent viewers at its peak, during the grand final match between Indonesia and the Philippines.

Clearly, the rivalry between the two countries is alive and well in 2022.

According to Esports Charts, the grand final series between Indonesia and the Philippines garnered the highest number of peak viewers in the tournament. The next most-viewed series was the match between Indonesia and Malaysia in the playoffs, which had around 1.74 million peak viewers.

Other matches involving Indonesia and the Philippines also found their way into the top five most-watched games.

The tournament totaled over 17 million hours watched, with the majority of fans coming from Indonesia.

Moonton said that there was a tenfold increase in concurrent viewers compared to the 30th SEA Games in 2019, which only had 284,888 viewers at its peak.

SIBOL, the Philippines’ team comprised of Blacklist International members, eventually went on to win the grand final against Indonesia 3-1.
