Even though jungling is widely considered the hardest role by League of Legends players, this high performing pro believes it is actually the easiest role in the game.

Since his second year competing in major leagues, jungler Kacper “Inspired” Słoma has always made playoffs and Worlds.

With Rogue, they locked in first place in the regular season in LEC Summer 2020 and qualified for Worlds. In LEC Spring 2021, they once again finished in first place in the regular season, and lost a very close series 3-2 against MAD Lions, and settled for second in the playoffs.

Just like the year before, Rogue topped the charts in LEC Summer 2021 to represent the region at Worlds.

In 2022, the 20-year-old moved over to Evil Geniuses in the LCS. Adapting to a new roster in a short period of time, Inspired and his crew went on to win the LCS Spring 2022 championship, and finished top four at MSI 2022. At the most recent 2022 LCS Summer split, they continued to dominate with another first place finish.

Even though it’s been three and a half years since his debut, Inspired’s lived experience feels shorter because he’s been keeping busy and hasn’t had much time off, the jungle told ONE Esports.

“I haven’t finished my season early or didn’t make playoffs where I have to stay home for very long offseason. I will need to experience that at some point — I hope I don’t — but I feel at some point that might happen where I will fail a split, and I’ll see how I feel then,” he said.

“Winning just feels good,” he added. “I keep winning for now, so I don’t consider doing anything else than playing League of Legends.”

A major factor that has shaped him to be one of the best junglers in the world comes from his personal practice habits, which might surprise LoL fans.

While he did play a lot of solo queue in the jungle role at the start of his career in the LEC, with time, he realized he wasn’t learning as much as he wanted to, so he started watching more competitive games and analyzed how teams play.

He kept a close eye on opponents, noticing the mistakes that they made and how he could punish them. At the same time, he also watched “better teams” to see what kinds of strategies they used to win. In terms of ranked, he’s branched out to play other roles to better understand them.

“In the other roles, you need to be aware of everything because if you make a mistake, the enemy team will try to punish and the game might become very hard to win,” said Inspired.

In contrast, he feels that junglers have more time to “think through the process” and plan out what they intend to do in the game and, in turn, what they would like their teammates to do.

“The jungle role is the easiest one because it has a lower margin of making mistakes,” he said. “There are still people who are not so good at it.”

“You need to know how your teammates want to play, and depending on the playstyle, the champions they choose, and how to play well with them,” he added.

Evil Geniuses recently lost to Cloud9 in the upper bracket of the LCS Summer 2022 playoffs, and will take on TSM in the lower bracket in a best-of-five on September 3 at 4 a.m. GMT+8 | September 2, 8 p.m. GMT | September 2, 1 p.m. PT.
