After weeks of speculation and numerous clues on social media, Dale “Coach Dale” Vitug has been confirmed as the head coach of Myanmar’s Falcon Esports, the organization said yesterday on Facebook.

The move comes a day before the start of the M4 Myanmar Qualifier, where the champions of the month-long event will represent the country in the upcoming M4 World Championship in Jakarta, Indonesia early next year.

“With an international coach, we will ignite the beautiful fire in Myanmar’s esports scene,” they wrote. “We believe he will be the one who will raise our MLBB Esports scene moving forward.”

Coach Dale will lead the experienced roster of Falcon, composed of Min Khant “yellowflash” Hein, Kenneth “Kenn” Hein, Pyae Sone “justiN” Khant, Yair “Ability” Naung, Silent, Zippx, and Min “Naomi” Ko Ko.

Before the qualifiers, the team also announced the addition of former Burmese Ghouls player Swan Htet “RubyDD” Aung, best known for his Lunox outplays at the M2 World Championship.

Coach Dale is no stranger to coaching star-studded teams. He started his coaching career in Season 4 with Sterling Global Dragons before transferring to Aura PH in Season 7, which rebranded to ECHO the next season.

After they were eliminated by Smart Omega in the first round of the playoffs in Season 8, Coach Dale announced his retirement from the league soon after.

Despite not winning any championship in MPL PH, he successfully led SIBOL’s MLBB team to a gold medal finish at the 30th Southeast Asian Games in 2019.

Falcon Esports first made its mark in the international Mobile Legends esports scene after a stellar performance at the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup 2022 (MSC 2022). Aside from finishing fourth in the tournament, they were also the only non-MPL team to reach the playoffs.
