After a hard fought group stage, five teams have been eliminated from the Arlington Major. The tournament, so far, has had fierce competition with a large amount of tied series. Every win and loss was all the more important. Group A especially was incredibly stacked. It contained many tournament favorites including, Boom Esports, OG, and PSG.LGD. But alas, not all the favored teams survived.Here are the teams that are out and how this effects their chances at TI:Thunder Awaken were unable to make it back to the playoffs like they did last major. They unfortunately were not able to win a single series this tournament. They lost three series in total, to OG, RNG, and LGD. Playing with a stand-in for Herrera “Darkmago” Gonzalo seemed to effect their peak performance. Fortunately for them, this doesn’t really effect their qualification for TI. Thunder had multiple first place finishes in their region during the DPC season. They also finished 5th-6th at the Stockholm major, leaving them currently with the most DPC points out of any team.Na’Vi actually looked to have an impressive performance at this major. The team failed to qualify for the last major and have had a relatively disappointing DPC season. Na’Vi were actually able to win two series, one against Tundra, and one against Beastcoast. Their issue however, is that they were only able to draw one series. The rest unfortunately were losses, including the one that started it all against EG. Na’Vi will unfortunately have to play through qualifiers to make it to TI after being confirmed eliminated yesterday. However, depending on how Team Spirit and Outsiders do, Na’Vi may have an easier time fighting through the qualifiers considering the caliber of a team that they are.Talon perhaps has the most heartbreaking story of the bunch. The team battled to be able to qualify to the upper division of the SEA DPC in tour two. In a stunning display of Dota, they were able to qualify for a spot at this major, defeating out many tough opponents in the highly competitive region. However Talon were only able to win one series in the group stage. Playing with stand-in, Kenny “Xepher” Deo, Talon showed moments of brilliance but were unable to make it to the playoffs. Now, to qualify to TI, they face a hyper competitive qualifiers where they will have to play outstandingly to make it through. This is made all the more difficult if Fnatic fail to gain enough points to qualify to TI at this major.The newly sponsored NA mainstays had a lot to prove at the Arlington major. Their fellow NA powerhouses TSM FTX were able to get second at the Stockholm Major after acquiring their sponsorship. But Soniqs had a very rough performance. They were unable to secure any wins in their group and took four losses under their belt. One bright spot was their win against LGD, making them the only team to be able to do so. Soniqs will have to go through NA qualifier to make it to TI. How difficult this will be depends on how well EG ends up doing at this major. If EG is able to directly qualify, then Soniqs will have a much easier time going through qualifiers, their only real problem being Nouns Esports.This may be one of the more shocking names on this list. Tundra were widely considered one of the favorites to win the whole tournament. Though they had a rough performance with a stand-in at the Riyadh Masters tournament, they were at the top of the WEU DPC. Unfortunately Tundra could never really seem to get it together. They were unable to win a series though they had four draws. Tundra is in an interesting spot when it comes to DPC points. They are in the sweet spot to directly qualify but it depends on how well other teams do at this major. They are several other teams that do not have that many points that could possibly overtake them and know them out of the running. In that case they would have to play through the brutal WEU qualifiers. That could contain any number of teams from this major. The game was too close until he bought that, then I took advantage of it.We thought that the water runes were going to spawn in 2 minutes. That’s what I thought too. That’s why I’m asking my teammates if I should get the bottle or not. And then when I was in the game I just thought that I cannot afford the bottle. He bought it and I didn’t, so I got the edge of just playing with the salve and the mango, and I just kept harassing him.<iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/GrFoaOgC3rw?feature=oembed"></iframe>Malystryx: You said to win the 1v1 is about the tempo, can you explain what you mean?Armel: There are always little edges that you can take advantage of. I think you just have to see that in the game. Because if you missed something like–this is your time to kill him or something–if you miss it, then maybe the game is either going to go longer or you might f**k it up in the later stage of the game.Malystryx: Could your teammates talk to you while you’re playing?Armel: No. They were outside. I think they just don’t want to pressure me or something. Because I just told them that I really cannot play 1V1, that I’m not really used to it but I will just try my best.Malystryx: Was there any discussion of a different player playing the 1V1? Or was it always you?Armel: I think obviously I’m just a midlaner. It’s a more obvious choice. I’m just more used to it. Even in 5V5 I’m always doing 1V1.Malystryx: The fans absolutely loved the 1v1? How do you feel about it?Armel: I think it’s really fine. I think I would still say that even if I lost the match–I think it’s very new–because before 1V1 is just for fun. They just trolling around, f**king around. Now there was something on the line and it was upper bracket. It’s still a big deal. It’s really fun but it’s still so much pressure. But if this kept happening you’re going to get used to it.Malystryx: How did you deal with the pressure… what did you do to stay calm? Do you ever try to imagine yourself winning to build yourself up?Armel: I just keep using my hand-warmer and try to relax my body and my hands. I think all that is in my mind is t I just want to do my best and not make some stupid mistakes that might cost me the game. Because I believe I have the skills to win it but I’m still not very comfortable doing a 1V1. I really didn’t want to let my team down.Malystryx: Who do you think are the top three midlaners now in the world apart from yourself?Armel: I’m just going to base it on the skills. What was that like and how did that motivate you for this year?Armel: I think before going to TI10 I kind of got lazy. Maybe chilling too much I would say. Chill so many times and just not learning enough going to qualifiers. So, I think my laziness cost me one TI and I don’t want it to happen again. When I joined Fnatic, I just kept working hard. Even up until now I’m not going to stop pushing myself just because we got the invite. I still want to win TI.Malystryx: So did you just wake up one day and start doing pushups? Is that what happened?Armel: I think it started by being more mindful even in pub games because you want to learn something everyday even in just pubs. I’m starting to become so mindful about this kind of thing, and I’m just trying to make sure I learn and not just pass the time.Malystryx: Well it’s working right? I mean you’re top four [laughs]. The fans really love the OG-Fnatic match. What do you remember most about that match at ESL One Genting?Armel: I think the first game is–of course the first game we win the match right so it was really fun–but I think the second game is like a missed opportunity you know? We had this huge opportunity to take the game from them and we didn’t do it. And we suddenly threw away our late game and that’s it. I think in the series against them that’s what I’m going to remember because we don’t want it to happen again, especially going into TI.Malystryx: What do you enjoy most right now about your Dota career? What makes you the most happy apart from winning?Armel: I think bonding with my teammates and I really just enjoy playing Dota. When I’m playing Dota I feel like I’m in control of my life, you know?Malystryx: What do you mean by in control of your life?Armel: You’re just always having fun. When I’m playing Dota, even in pub game, even in actually anything, when I’m just playing Dota, I’m just having fun. It’s just very peaceful for me.Malystryx: Is there any other thing in your life that give you the same feeling?Armel: Oh yeah of course. I have a girlfriend and I have a family. And I have a dog so I’m very excited to come home to see them.Malystryx: And you don’t need to practice right? You’re already qualified for TI?Armel: Yes. After claiming nearly 100 points in their last six matches, Four Angry Men made a sensational comeback on the second day, jumping from sixth to pole position. The Chinese squad leads the overall standings with 145 points with the help of two Chicken Dinners and 71 eliminations.


Besiktas Esports, too, made a remarkable comeback and moved up to third place with 120 points, while IHC performed similarly on both days. They're currently in fifth place.


Geek Fam dropped a spot from first to second and has 136 points. They did not perform as well on Day 2 as they had on the first day. They had 92 points on Day 1. But today, they collected only 44 points.


Nepal's T2K Esports won the Chicken Dinner in the first match of Day 2, but their gameplay saw a dip in the subsequent matches. The squad came fifth with 111 points in the overall rankings.


Day 2 saw the fall of Geekay Esports. They were in the second position after six matches but then slipped to sixth place with 107 points. FaZe Clan was behind them in seventh place with 102 points.


Team Reject acquired a mammoth 20-kill victory in the second match of PMGC Day 2, which took place on Miramar. But they failed to maintain their momentum in the next four games and ended the day with 92 points in the overall standings.
 
After struggling in several matches on the second day, D'Xavier took the fifth match and came 10th with 83 points. The side will have to display some resistance in the remaining games to survive in the competition.


Genesis Dogma and Team Falcons' poor run continued on PMGC Day 2. They came fifteenth and sixteenth, respectively, on the overall leaderboard. South Korea's RedForce finished the day in the 16th spot after 12 matches with 33 points.

Meta announced on Friday that it will launch a new large language model based on artificial intelligence (AI) for the research community, making it an official entry into the field.


LLaMA stands for &quot;Large Language Model Meta AI&quot; and is available under non-commercial licence to government, community and non-profit organisations. The smallest model, LLaMA 7B, has been trained with 1 trillion tokens.


And this training process, in which they chose 20 languages to work with, and some to reduce cases of bias, vicious speech, false speech, etc., is also a challenge Meta is facing.


Among other things, Meta says that LLaMA-13B outperforms the GPT-3 (175B) developed by Open AI in all aspects, while LLaMA-65B is able to compete with Google's Chinchilla70B and PaLM-540B.


As things stand now, LLaMA is still in the process of being made available to the needy, and it will be interesting to see when it will be available to the general public.
