LCS organization Team Liquid ushers in a new era with an all-Korean roster for 2023.

In a YouTube video, team co-CEO Steve Arhancet announced two big signings to complete their 2023 LCS roster — Hong “Pyosik” Chang-hyeon and Park “Summit” Woo-tae.

Pyosik has made his mark in the LCK as a world-class jungler. He recently made history with DRX in their Worlds 2022 miracle run, where they became the first Play-In team to win the international tournament.

After playing under the Liiv SANDBOX banner for three years, top laner Summit spent the 2022 season abroad, playing for Cloud9 in Spring and LPL’s FunPlus Phoenix in Summer.

TL has also promoted mid laner Harry “Haeri” Kang and bot laner Sean “Yeon” Sung from their Academy roster. The duo has clocked in two years in the developmental league.

The last man standing from their 2022 squad, Jo “CoreJJ” Yong-in continues his role as support for the 2023 season. The TL mainstay remains a dominant player in the region. He has won two LCS championships, and was voted into the LCS All-Pro first team six times in the past four years.

“He’s been a rock for us. CoreJJ is so instrumental in teaching other players. He has really dialed in developing TL’s ecosystem”, said Arhancet.

The all-Korean roster complies with the LCS’ rule of only fielding two import players at a time. Haeri and Yeon have OCE and NA residencies respectively, which allows Summit and Pyosik to take the two import slots.

Leading the squad is former SKT top laner Jang “MaRin” Gyeong-hwan, who steps into the role of head coach for the next two years.

TL had also welcomed back Kim “Reignover” Yeu-jin as their assistant coach. The seasoned LCS coach previously played for the organization as a jungler back in 2017.

The team is currently boot camping in Korea for three weeks to prepare for the new year, said Archancet.
