Vici Gaming add fy and Setsu to their roster for 2023

With just two days to go until the roster lock Vici Gaming (VG) are making big moves in player acquisition for 2023. The team has seemingly signed both Invictus Gaming’s  Xu “fy” Linsen and Royal Never Give Up’s Gao “Setsu” Zhenxiong. This is as per the Dota Pro Circuit Registration page, which shows both players, along with Yang “Erika” Shaohan and Li “niu” Kongbo signed for the team from Wednesday, Dec. 7.

Fy joins VG after a disappointingly short season with Invictus gaming. Joining a struggling roster in Tour 3 of the DPC CN 2021/2022 Tour 3: Division II, the team were able to scrape their way into the The International 2022: China Qualifier, ultimately losing out to fy’s new team, Vici Gaming.

Setsu was inactive for the entirety of the 2022 season, and much of 2021, after a misstep in qualifiers meant Royal Never Give Up started the 2021 DPC season in the lower bracket. Despite the team’s promotion in Tour 2, Setsu was released and found himself teamless for the next year and a half.

Vici Gaming missed out on TI11 after being eliminated from the Last Chance Qualifiers by eventual winners, and third-place TI team, Team Liquid. The result was a culmination of a disappointing 2022 that saw the squad struggle to maintain anything but a middle of the table performance in the CN DPC.

Heading into the 2022/2023 season Vici Gaming will have new leadership in the form of fy, and a revitalized middle lane from Setsu. It’s unknown whether current five-position Zhou “Yang” Haiyang will stay with the team, and move back to position four. Overall though, VG’s seems ready for the new session with a revitalized roster.
