Coming back into the SEA regional PMNCs, I'll be covering one nation today that will seed the most teams into the upcoming 2023 PMPL SEA Wildcard, and have shared PMPL with our own in 2022. Introducing the PUBG Mobile National Championship Philippines (PMNC PH) 2022.

One thing that I liked about PMNC PH, is its tournament structure. You will be amazed how well-done the organizers have managed with this event. It was a 2-month-long event that started way back November and recently just ended. (I also like how colorful the tournament logo is 🤩)

The tournament began with open registrations from Nov 23rd - Dec 8th, 2022 for the Phase 1 Qualifiers and then Dec 12th - 15th, 2022 for Phase 2 Qualifiers. The Qualifiers was then held for Phase 1 on Dec 10th-11th and Phase 2 on Dec 17th-18th, each phase had 13 groups of 16 teams each and the Top 2 of each group in each phase advanced to the Group Stage.

In the Group Stage, a total of 64 teams; 52 from the Qualifiers and 14 teams invited from PMCT PH, Gamer Grounds Championship, AcadArena ACES and National Grassroots Program, were divided into 4 groups; Red, Yellow, White & Blue. Each team played 12 matches in their respective groups that was held between Jan 12th - 21st, 2023 and only the Top 4 of each group advanced to the Grand Finals.

The Grand Finals was played very recently; on Jan 28th - 29th, 2023 and the 16 best teams fought in 12 matches for a total prizepool of ₱1,000,000 PHP (≃ $18,350 USD) and 6 spots in the 2023 PMPL SEA Wildcard Spring Split.
Editors note; Inside source told me that there will be a 7th team representing the Philippines in PMPL SEA-WC but it is still being decided by KRAFTON/Level Infinite whether that 7th slot will be a special invite or PMNC PH's 7th place.

The final result, Team Power PH (PWR) won PMNC PH with 243 points and brings home ₱240,000 (roughly $4,400), an enormous 117 points ahead of GameLab Alpha (GLA) in 2nd place, and 119 points ahead of Vipers Clan (VPC) in 3rd place. Other teams that successfully advanced to PMPL are Shoot to Kill Esports (S2K), West Point Mamba (WPM) and Sin MainTeam (SMT) for the time being. Vigor, one of the most veteran Filipino player was also nominated as the tournament's MVP 🔥

Shortly after the Grand Finals, the PUBG Mobile PH Esports Facebook page announced the PUBG Mobile City Tournament (PMCT) expansion and city-coverage in 2023 for new amateur teams:

That's all for now 👋🏻
