This is my second ML season, and it has been full of excitement and frustration. I have made some trustworthy teammates throughout my 160+ games so far. When I party with friends, I get to play the MM role most of the time. I also play the fighter role when needed. However, my favourite hero, Melissa, is banned 95% of the time. So I had to pick up a new hero to satisfy my urge to play the game.

But I ended up with Wanwan mainly because of her mechanics and skin selection. Knowing the basics of her skill sets, I decided to hop into ranked games with a copied item build from a pro player because I am impatient.

She can handle the laning phase comfortably with good movement and CC-purify skill. However, Wanwan needs an initiator to tank in order for her to get into dangerous areas to trigger her ultimate– Crossbow of Tang.

When it comes to item builds, I would recommend the standard Pro builds from the hero leaderboard. Wanwan needs NO BOOTS, meaning she can have one extra slot for ATT/DEF items! I would recommend getting Corrosion Scythe and Demon Hunter Sword first, then Wind of Nature to stay safe in early/mid-game team fights. Lastly, get the Windtalker, Rose Gold Meteor, and Malefic Roar to complete the build.

ATT speed is the key to Wanwan’s hero mechanic. You should prioritize it when building towards the item you want to buy. Naturally, inspiration is the go-to battle spell for Wanwan as it provides extra ATT speed and HP restoration in the heat of battle.
